A sad day I’m not sure if you are all aware but my co rep/partner in crime, Michele, has sadly decided to concentrate on her health as she has been rather poorly as of late. This means that I am all you will get for the foreseeable future. A sadder day We have also had a terrible turn out for the last social in Birmingham; we let down the side with the east midlands thinking we are not up for a party! The future’s bright So, we have the pride season zooming in on the calendar (it’ll be here soon enough). it would be nice to see you all pounding the streets of Brum The Birmingham Gay Pride Festival 2008 is set to take place May 24 - 26. There are plans to take the Festival to the next level; a City-wide festival over 2 weeks culminating in a spectacular weekend of activities. The future’s Oranges (are not the only fruit) The seminar 07 was a brilliant success. There was a great show of West Midlanders and it was nice to meet you. This year’s event will (probably) be in Leeds and should be just as good, I have it on good authority that the entertainments committee are already planning some disco fever evenings and silly quizzes. I hope more of you will come along. Remember you don’t have to be a member of proud to come along, if you are LGBT and a PCS member then look out for application forms at the end of summer. The happy bit at the end Finally I would like some ideas for our next social; we always seem to end up in Birmingham and in a pub. If there are any party planners out there with a big pool in their back gardens, get in touch, that or if you have a good idea please email me. |
